What size mini-split (BTU) do I need?
Use roughly 20 BTU per square foot. Quick guide: about 500–550 sq ft needs 12,000 BTU; ~700 sq ft needs 18,000 BTU; ~1,000 sq ft needs 24,000 BTU. Add 10–20% for hot climates, poor insulation, high ceilings, or heavy sun. Not sure? Tell us your room size and we'll size it, or use our HVAC Load Calculator.
What is the difference between single-zone and multi-zone?
A single-zone system has one outdoor unit and one indoor head for one room. A multi-zone system has one outdoor unit running 2–6 indoor heads, each on its own thermostat, for multiple rooms. For multi-zone, size the BTU for each room individually, not just the total.
R454B or R410A — which refrigerant should I choose?
Choose R454B for new purchases. It is the current low-GWP refrigerant aligned with U.S. regulations. R410A is the legacy refrigerant being phased out; buy it only if you specifically need to match existing equipment.
What's included with a system? Do units come pre-charged?
Systems include the outdoor condenser and the indoor head(s). Outdoor units ship pre-charged for the included line-set length. Always check the product's "What's included" details for the exact kit contents.
Do I need a separate line set? What lengths are available?
If your installation run is longer than the included line-set length, you'll need a longer or separate line set. We offer 16 ft, 25 ft, and 50 ft installation kits. Tell us the distance between your indoor and outdoor units and we'll confirm what you need.
What voltage do mini-splits use — 115V or 230V?
Most systems run on 208–230V. A limited number of smaller units run on 110–115V. Check the product's voltage before ordering to match your electrical setup.
Do the units have Wi-Fi?
Many models include or support Wi-Fi control. Check the specific product page, or send us the model and we'll confirm.
Can I install it myself?
Some models are DIY-friendly, but we recommend a licensed HVAC professional for installation to protect your warranty and meet local code. We do not provide installation service.
What warranty do units carry?
All units are brand-new and carry the full manufacturer warranty. See our Warranty Policy for details by brand.
Is shipping free? How does it ship?
Free insured LTL freight shipping on orders over $300 within the contiguous U.S. Units ship from U.S. warehouses. No checkout surprises.
What is the return policy?
Unused products purchased directly from us may be returned per our Return Policy. Contact us to start a return; restocking terms may apply. We do not sell second-hand items.
Do you offer bulk or contractor pricing?
Yes — automatic discounts apply at checkout with no code: 5% on orders over $5,000, 10% over $10,000, 13% over $15,000, and 15% over $50,000, plus an extra 3% for ACH bank transfer. Contractors and multi-system buyers can contact us for a custom quote.
Which brands do you carry?
Cooper & Hunter (C&H), OLMO, BRAVO, and Armbridge — wall-mount, ceiling cassette, concealed duct, floor/ceiling, PTAC/through-the-wall, and multi-position air handlers.
Do you carry hyper-heat / cold-climate systems?
Yes. Hyper-heat models maintain strong heating output in low outdoor temperatures — ideal for cold climates. Ask us for the hyper-heat option in your BTU range.
How can I pay? Is there an ACH discount?
We accept standard checkout payment methods. Paying by ACH bank transfer earns an extra 3% off, on top of any automatic bulk discount.
